I thought I’d take a minute to review the apartment we stayed in for 10 days this past May. It’s Regis in Saint Germain, offered by Paris Deluxe Rentals (http://www.parisdeluxerentals.com/regis-in-saint-germain/) It’s located on the ground floor at 1 rue Regis in the 6th arrondisement, near metros St. Placide (line 4), Rennes (line 12) and Vaneau (line 10). The location is nice—a quiet street with multiple patisseries, small grocery stores and a few cafés within a couple minute’s walk. Josephine Chez Dumonet is also a short walk away, as is Bon Marché and the Grand Epicerie!
The apartment is very clean, nicely decorated and well maintained. We were there with another couple, so the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were ideal. Both bedrooms are on a quiet courtyard and are equipped with twin beds that convert to kings (I didn’t even realize our king bed was really 2 twins until a week into our stay!). One bedroom has an attached bathroom with bathtub and stand-up shower. The other bedroom is next to a separate WC with sink, and across the hall is a walk in shower with another sink. The sofa converts to a queen bed, and while we didn’t sleep on it, we did open it to check it out (we had just purchased the same brand for our apartment). It has a great mattress that’s at least 6 inches thick and it felt very comfortable—no bars across the middle of your back, the length was good, and it folds in and out with one easy movement and no need to hassle with removing all the cushions. The kitchen is fully equipped, and even has a dishwasher, clothes washer and separate dryer. There is also an iron and ironing board in case you packed your suitcase so tightly you ended up with wrinkles There’s a large TV, WiFi, ample storage space, and an air conditioner (which we had to use a few days!). There were 4 of us, but I don’t think the apartment would be too squishy with 6.
Communication with the rental agency was perfect—emails were always answered promptly by Eirwen, and the rental process was easy (50% due by wire transfer or Paypal upon booking, final half due 4 weeks prior to arrival; 500€ or $600 security deposit taken upon arrival, either cash or check). Waiting for us at the apartment upon our arrival was the handsome and charming Axel (I should have taken a picture of him for the ladies! ). He took our security deposit and showed us around the apartment, explaining how everything works. Once during the week our power went out and he came over right away to make sure everything was back on and to replace some lightbulbs. He was back the morning of our departure to take the keys and refund our security deposit (nice not having to wait for that in the mail!).
We enjoyed our stay and would rent this place again (but our apartment should be finished soon so hopefully we won’t have the need!).
