 What street might this be?
« Thread Started on Apr 12, 2010, 7:33am »

Hi all.

I need an address or at least a street name in Paris. Where would I need to be standing to take a photo similar to that on the front page of the PDF document below?

http://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/__data/page/13629/Paris.pdf

Thanks, Mez

I think that might be in front of the musee de quai Branley, near Pont d'lena

My guess is Ave. Bourdonnais.

Here's my take on this building - the vertical garden next to the Branly Museum (or is it a part of?):

Hmmm....Firefox was preventing me from opening that page! I opened it with no problem with Windows Explorer...

Anyway, try 57 Quai Branley:

I'm not sure of the street name, but this was taken walking from the Petit Palais to the Eiffel Tower I believe following the Quai D'orsay. I do remember going by the American Church of Paris, we tried to go in but it was closed, so this building may have been right before or after the church. The origianl picture showes the eiffel tower on the right, I think this is the same building. Hope this helps

Mez,

You can take that picture on Quai Branly. I have taken pictures of that building and the gardens when the Museum first opened. It is near the Pont de l'Alma (near the RER station for Line C). The gardens are to the left of the building.

By a landscape artist named Blanc. He is all the rage right now with vertical gardens in cafes (Malongo rue du Commerce) and hotels and, as noted, Quai Branly.

I go to sleep safe in the knowledge that at least one person may be able to help me and look at the number of responses I get! Thanks for your help everyone ... you are all to be commended for your superior knowledge. :D

Apologies to those who could not open the link. If you are interested in seeing the picture, you should be able to see it at the bottom of this page - http://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/members....itinerary#Paris

If you click on the 'view detailed itinerary' link, you will get to the PDF document I originally posted. This picture in the PDF is much nicer.

Regards, Mez.
