Although Chanel's clothes were ultramodern in their day, Chanel's own tastes in decorating ran to the traditional. She lived at the Ritz, but also maintained an apartment in her atelier at 31, rue Cambon. It has been preserved and is still used for entertaining buyers and fashion editors. The mirror over the sofa could have come straight from the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. And thereby hangs a tale...

Thanks, Mimi! I've read a lot about her apt and seen photos but didn't know if it was open for tours, visits, etc. Too bad it isn't, I would love to see it.
